At Anchor, Platypus Bay, Fraser Island
Ahoy Me Hearties,What a great 24 hours it has been! Overnight last night we sailed across Hervey Bay, with good winds and a full press of canvas set. While intially a number of the Youth Crew were sea sick, after three tacks dutring the night, everyone seems to have come good. This morning we had the usual morning brief, followed by happy hour and then a Navigation lecture by Hector. After lunch we had rope races (well done whiteys) and a sail theory lecture. We then had a birthday cake for Jacinta to celbrate her 24th birthday, before sailing to anchor off Platypus Bay.We then went ashore to the beach where we played a few beach games, and had a swim. It was then back onboard for a BBQ, three way talks and an anchor watch lecture. In the last 24 hours we have also completed our census forms, so that we can be counted too!Tomorrow we will continue with the program, weighing anchor after lunch to commence our passage to Brisbane.Until tomorrow ye lubbers,ChrisChris GallowayLieutenant Commander RANCommanding Officer

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
