A Great Shipmate
Today we sailed into port with yards manned by the YC and sang the National Anthem as we came alongside. Boy was it cold and by the time they came down the sun came out and warmed them up again. At a gathering at midships I farewelled the YC and presented them with Voyage certificates. To the YC member who embodied the spirit of the ship and contributed the most to the success of the Voyage, they are awarded an Order of Australia Association Emblem – this award went to Caitlin Bell, 17. She was a great shipmate and team player. She got a lot from the Voyage and contributed heaps. Well done, Caitlin. To all the YC who sailed in YE on this Voyage, farewell – it was great having you on board and thank you for taking up the challenge. See you in port. If you are reading this and want to tour the ship, we will be open to visitors in Devonport from 1 to 4pm on Sunday 13 Jan 02.Stay tunedAndrew Davis

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
