20 NAUTICAL MILES EAST OF YAMBA, NSW

PAST 24 HOURSSAILING UNDER THE LOWER SQUARES AND MAIN STAYSAIL ON A STBD TACKMAKING EXCELLENT GROUND NORTH. YESTERDAY ALL YOUTH CREW CONTINUED TO PROGRESS WELL IN CLIMBING ALOFT, SAIL SETTING AND REFINING THEIR SKILLS ON THE HELM. THE NSW COAST PROVIDED BREATH TAKING SCENERY AND AFTER A SPECTACULAR SUNSET THE MOON RISE WAS VERY IMPRESSIVE. DURING THE EVENING THE WEATHER CONDITIONS FRESHENED REQUIRING SAIL TO BE SHORTENED. A SOUTHERLY CHANGE PASSED THROUGH THE SHIPS TRACK AFTER MIDNIGHT AND THE WIND STRENGTH GRADUALLY EASED BY MORNING ALLOWING THE TOPSAIL AND COURSE SQUARES TO BE SET. HANDS TO TACKING STANDBY TO WEAR SHIP WAS THE CALL. EVERYONE CLOSED UP QUICKLY AND YOUNG ENDEAVOUR ALTERED COURSE AND HEADED OFF SHORE. SHORTLY AFTERWARDS ROPE RACES CONTINUED WITH THE FOCUS BEING ON SPECIFIC SAILS AND THEIR LINES. A FEW YOUTH CREW ARE NOW FEELING THE EFFECTS OF THE SHIPS MOTION. FELLOW SHIPMATES ARE PROVIDING COMFORTING SUPPORT. YOUTH CREW IMPRESSIONSRACHEL, ESPERANCE. MY VOYAGE SO FAR HAS BEEN AWSOME. I FEEL I HAVE ALREADY, IN JUST A FEW DAYS, MADE LIFE LONG MATES.REBECCA,DARWIN. THIS EXPERIENCE HAS ALREADY PROVED A REWARDINGCHALLENGE FOR MYSELF AND FELLOW YOUTH.MARIJA, SYDNEY.
