So much for plain sailing last night.
We made very good ground to the N overnight so this morning we anchored in the lee of Cape Upstart for a few hours to conduct some activities on deck.
Arose to a wonderful Nara Inlet morning of swimming and snorkeling on a low coral reef before heading off into the Whitsunday Passage again for our last time.
The winds were again kind to us overnight so we sailed up the E coast of Hook Is across into the Cumberland Channel and down the main Whitsunday Passage to arise to a wonderful Whitsunday morning.
We had another great night at sea last night with a light SE breeze to help us along. This meant that we sailed into the Whitehaven anchorage mid-morning.
Our Youth Crew settled into their watches overnight and experienced some good sailing.
Having arrived at Keswick Is after dark yesterday, we awoke to find it a beautiful anchorage this morning. During the night our youth crew all climbed to the top of the foremast.
After a very enjoyable stay in the new Mackay Marina we embarked our youth crew for the voyage to Townsville. Once we departed the Harbour we headed to the NE toward the small St Bees Island group.
The YC held end of voyage talks ashore last night after an exhausting time harbour furling the square sails but they did a great job on them. Last night we held a concert on deck.
The Youth Crew were excellent hosts today and the Staff would like to thank them.
