Early Morning Deck Scrub

The end of voyage concert was a great success and clearly reflected the friendships that have been made and the adventure the good times that have been had. This morning after early morning deck scrub and general clean up we weighed anchor and proceeded alongside Burnie with Youth Crew manning the yards. Alongside I welcomed the Mayor of the City of Burnie, Alderman Alvwyn Boyd, and presented him with a Waterford Crystal commemorative globe as a momento of our visit to Burnie as part of our Centenary Circumnavigation. Finally I presented the Youth Crew with their end of voyage certificates and awarded the Order of Australia emblem to the Youth Crew member who had best reflected the spirit of the voyage, Heinrich Crous. And so concludes our first voyage for 2001 and the first leg of our Centenary Circumnavigation. It has been a great start with an excellent Youth Crew and I have been proud to be a small part of it.Until next time, remember to challenge yourselves each day and to have fun.Cap’n Bob
