PAST 24 HOURSA FABULOUS AFTERNOON ASHORE CONDUCTING BEACH SPORTS AT GREEN PATCH BEACH, JERVIS BAY. BY MID AFTERNOON A SOUTHERLY CHANGE WAS DUE AND ALL RETURNED ONBOARD BEFORE THE TORRENTIAL RAIN POSTPONED THE EVENINGS DECK BBQ WHICH WAS EVENTUALLY HELD BELOW DECKS. THREE WAY TALKS FOLLOWED SHORTLY AFTERWARDS PROVIDING ALL YOUTH CREW WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO INTRODUCE FELLOW CREW MEMBERS. OVERNIGHT ANCHOR WATCHES WERE KEPT IN GROUPS OF THREE. A QUICK MORNING SWIM BEFORE BREAKFAST ON DECK FOLLOWED BY MORNING BRIEF BEFORE SAILING AWAY FROM THE ANCHORAGE. ALL WELL AND REFRRESHED. YOUTH CREW IMPRESSIONS KATIE, WERRIS CREEKTHE TRIP HAS BEEN A GREAT EXPERIENCE, NOT ONLY LEARNING SAILINGTECHNIQUES BUT MEETING DIFFERENT PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER AUSTRALIA. I HAVE HAD AN AWESOME TIME ON THE SHIP. JAMES, CANBERRA HAVING AN AWESOME TIME, THERE IS NOTHING LIKE SEEING A POD OF DOLPHINS AT SUNRISE TO WAKE YOU UP TO A GREAT DAY. AND I DIDNT EVEN GET SICK… WHAT A STAR GREG, MELBOURNEIT’S GREAT FUN TO MEET NEW PEOPLE AND TO BE SAILING. Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow.
