The weather for our trip north is looking pretty good, with south east winds to push us along.
Ahoy Shipmates,

V09/06 has started and after a busy time overnight getting to know the ship and each other we are now on the way out of Moreton Bay on our way to Mackay.

Overnight everyone completed their first climb aloft and all had at least six hours sleep! We cast off from our overnight berth at Bulimba this morning and departed the river, conducting line handling and deck safety drills on the way. As we crossed the bay we completed setting and furling drills for the fore and aft sails, and soon we will learn how to set the squares.

Later on we will complete a series practice tacks to ensure that we can work as a team to alter course if we need to overnight.

Until tomorrow, shipmates,

Chris Galloway
