Hi Everyone, Welcome to day six of our voyage. The Youth crew were given a 30 minute sleep in this morning and were woken at 0700 for an early morning swim, which also included the use of the famous Young Endeavour rope swing. Once out of the water we enjoyed an alfresco BBQ breakfast cooked by James and served on deck with the spectacular Wineglass Bay peaks as our ‘picture perfect’ backdrop. Once completed we conducted morning brief then the Youth Crew were ferried ashore where they we given the task of climbing to the Wineglass Bay lookout. With their mission accomplished they returned to the beach where they played some beach sports and enjoyed a refreshing swim in the crystal clear water of this scenic bay. By 1400 we had everyone back onboard and once we had recovered the RHIB we weighed anchor, departed Wineglass Bay then transited through the Freycinet Peninsula’s Schouten Passage and into Great Oyster Bay. Originally we had planned to conduct demonstrational tacks late this afternoon but due to the light conditions this activity had to be postponed. Early this evening the wind eventually strengthened from the west which allowed us to put the ship under fore and aft sail and to enjoy some pleasant sailing. Overnight all of the watches will undertake the BEAREX (teambuilding, communication and initiative exercise) as we continue to make good speed towards Tasman Island and Storm Bay. Currently we are located 12nm to the north of Maria Island sailing close hauled in moderate westerly conditions and are just witnessing an amazing sunset. Until tomorrow evening, take care. Yours Aye Captain Gav
