Hi Everyone, Welcome to day seven of our voyage. The wind continued to strengthen to 30-35kts and the swell increased to 3m during the early hours of this morning as we made good speed towards Jervis Bay. Having reduced sail late the previous evening the ship and her crew handled these stronger conditions well and at 0615 we sailed/surfed into Jervis Bay coming safely to anchor at Green Patch at 0700 where we were well sheltered from the strong SSW winds. Once at anchor we conducted the normal routine of morning brief and cleaning stations then stood everyone down until lunch so that they could catch up on some much needed sleep following a sleepless night for most onboard. Early this afternoon we weighed anchor, put the ship under fore & aft sail and in 25-35kt winds completed an impressive set of Demonstrational Tacks. The strong winds and relatively flat seas within the confines of Jervis Bay gave us the opportunity to push the ship hard achieving speeds of 9-10kts whilst conducting some exciting high speed tacks which both the Youth Crew and Staff thoroughly enjoyed. This evening, back in our sheltered anchorage we conducted the Command Day Brief followed by the Command Day elections which have just finished with the following positions decided: Captain – Mitch Sail Master – Georgia Navigators – Chris and Scott Watch Officer – Kelsea Watch Leaders - Dan, Maisey & Jade Chefs – BJ, Callum & Connor Activities - Matt & Jess With the elections complete we will now revert to anchor watches overnight ensuring that we are all well rested for what should be an exciting 24hr Command Period. Until tomorrow evening, take care. Yours Aye Captain Gav
