Currently at anchor at Green Patch, Jervis Bay and experiencing moderate - strong SE winds with nil swell. The current temperature is 18 degrees.
Hi Everyone, Welcome to day eight of our voyage. As forecast a southerly change occurred overnight which cooled the temperature and brought with it some light showers. A well rested Youth Crew were awake at 0630 to witness a spectacular sunrise as they undertook an early morning activity of knights and cavaliers followed by a big YE breakfast. At 0845 we weighed anchor then motored to the south of the bay anchoring at Green Patch at 0950 where we were well sheltered from the stronger southerly winds that had been forecast for later in the day. Also being down at this end of the bay gave us the opportunity to embark a fridge mechanic to fix the ship’s dairy fridge which had not been working properly over the previous 24hrs. This afternoon the Youth Crew were ferried ashore to Green Patch Beach where they enjoyed 2hrs of beach sports followed by a refreshing swim in the clear water of Jervis Bay. Once back onboard I gave my Command Day brief which was followed by a very enjoyable Teak deck BBQ. Later this evening the Youth Crew will conduct their Command Team Elections prior to settling into anchor watchers overnight ensuring that they are well rested for what will be a challenging 24hr command period. Until tomorrow, take care. Yours Aye Captain Gav
