Hi Everyone, Welcome to Day 4 of our voyage. Well our plan to get into Jervis Bay late last night didn’t work as the strong westerlies and the large swell slowed our progress that much that we didn’t enter the bay until 0600 this morning. Once inside Jervis Bay we proceeded to anchor just off the picturesque Green Patch where those that had been seasick quickly improved and all enjoyed a big breakfast and a hot shower. Morning brief followed with the first appearance of ‘Nanna Diesel’ who ensures that everyone keeps their accommodation areas clean and that they pick up after themselves. Cleaning stations (Happy Hour) took a little longer this morning so that we could give the ship a thorough clean following the previous 20hrs of rough weather. Once Matt the Sail master was happy with the cleanliness of the ship Evan the Navigator mustered everyone at midships and gave an informative presentation on Navigation which he will cover more with practical instruction over the next couple of days. This afternoon following another fantastic lunch the Youth Crew were ferried ashore to Green Patch Beach where they were given the opportunity to enjoy a good leg stretch, play some beach sports or enjoy a refreshing swim in the clear water of Jervis Bay. By 1530 they were all back onboard and following a short break Horto conducted the first set of semi competitive ‘rope races’. Given the pleasant weather conditions this evening we enjoyed a magnificent Teak Deck BBQ which was followed by an enjoyable round of three way talks (communication and public speaking exercise). To finish the evenings program Evan the Navigator gave a brief on keeping the ship safe whilst at anchor. The time is now 2100 and the Youth Crew have now settled into their anchor watches for the night which will ensure that everyone is well rested for the busy days ahead. Until tomorrow, take care. Yours Aye Captain Gav
