COMMAND DAY PART 2

Ahoy Shipmates,Please find attached the Captains Log entry for the second half of Command Day written by Youth Crew Captain Chris and his team.Yours AyeCaptain GavCommand Day ContinuedDay 8 V13/08Well.what a change 12 hours makes!! After taking hold of the reins of the ship at 2200, we set our sights on waypoint three and onto the final destination of Caloundra. These targets were made all the more difficult by the 35 knot South-Westerly winds, the strongest of the voyage so far. These conditions forced us to tack multiple times during the night to account for an excess boat speed and near headwind!A tiring Youth Crew performed exceptionally well on deck in the difficult conditions, showing amazing perseverance and strength, to tack, furl and set sails through out the long night. An exhausted Youth Crew were quite glad to hand back control of the ship to staff at 1000 this morning, and take a well deserved rest!We are currently anchored off Bribie Island, looking forward to a full nights sleep and the final few days of our adventure aboard the Young Endeavour.Well done to all on a sterling effort for command day V13/08.Hi Fives,Second Command team:Chris, Dan and Jayson.
