Ahoy there Shipmates,
Overnight the Ship remained at anchor in Snug Cove, Twofold Bay. At 0800 we observed the ceremony of Colours followed by Morning Brief and Happy Hour.

At 0930 Navigator Adam gave the Navigation Brief to the Youth Crew, which was followed by lunch. At 1230 the Staffies weighed anchor and departed Twofold Bay while the Youthies took part in Rope Races episode 3. On completion the Watch Leaders held the mid-voyage chats with their watches, discussing the progress to achieving their voyage goals and setting some new ones if appropriate.

At 1400 the wind freshened to 30 knots from the WNW. We handed-in some sail due to the excessive apparent wind we experienced. Once we had sea-furled the sails we came up on engines and commenced motor-sailing towards Jervis Bay.

At 1430 I commenced my Sail Theory briefs, firstly to Red Watch during the afternoon watch. I briefed White Watch during my first dog watch and after dinner briefed the Blue Watch during the last dog watch.

It is intended to remain at sea overnight, on passage to Jervis Bay, where we will stop for a couple of hours tomorrow. The watches will undertake the leadership and initiative activity known as ‘the Bearex’ during their night watches tonight.

Until tomorrow.

Yours Aye
Captain Mike
